Honda Fourtrax ATV Lighting and Accessories
In the history of ATVs, there is arguably no company more influential than Honda. Canada’s JGR Gunsport is credited with developing the first all-terrain vehicle in 1961 with their 6-wheeled, amphibious, made-to-order “Jiger,” but it was Honda engineer Osamu Takeuchi who brought the ATV into the mainstream.
It was 1970 when Takeuchi’s revolutionary creation, the three-wheeled Honda US90 ATC (All-Terrain Cycle), made its debut in the United States. Featured in the James Bond film Diamonds are Forever and the popular TV series Magnum PI, the US90 became an instant sensation among sportsmen and recreational riders alike. The smaller ATC 70 was soon introduced to bring younger riders into the sport, and a boom in three-wheeled outdoor recreation was underway.
By the early 1980’s, the popularity of all-terrain vehicles had risen to new heights, thanks in part to the gas crisis of 1979, which saw farmers switching from gas-guzzling tractors to fuel-efficient ATVs for many agricultural and utility applications. For this heavier-duty work, and for the sake of rider safety, it became clear to manufacturers that three wheels wouldn’t suffice. Suzuki brought the first four-wheeled ATV to market with their QuadRunner 125 in 1982. But it was Honda, once again, who upped the ante and brought four-wheel drive to the ATV sector with their 1986 FourTrax 350.
Today, the FourTrax line continues Honda’s legacy of innovation with a selection of rugged ATVs known for reliability, versatility, and ease of operation. There’s the light and maneuverable FourTrax Recon, with its torquey 229cc engine and affordable price point. The FourTrax Rancher and Rancher 4x4, equally adept at work and fun with a 420cc engine and available automatic Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). The FourTrax Foreman 4x4, with a 518cc power plant capable of hauling almost anything just about anywhere, and the Foreman Rubicon 4x4 which adds the comfort of Independent-Rear Suspension. Honda tops off the line with their flagship FourTrax Rincon, a 675cc beast capable of all manner of four-wheeled work and play.
Honda offers such a diverse range of FourTrax ATVs because each ATV owner has unique needs. Similarly, DENALI offers a broad range of LED lighting kits and mounting hardware to meet a wide array of illumination needs, no matter which FourTrax model you ride.
Take, for example, the ultra-powerful DENALI D7 round-format LED lights. They come in a pair, housing a total of 14 10-watt Cree LEDs putting out a stunning 15,000 lumens. As work lights, auxiliary lights, or driving lights for your FourTrax, these can’t be beat — literally! They are the brightest LED lights available in a housing that’s under 4.5 inches in diameter. They can be mounted straight to the brush guard on your FourTrax to light up the trail ahead, or mount them to your rear rack and use them as work lights. With the included TriOptic Lens System, you’re able to customize the beam to suit your needs using E-Mark Certified lenses; Flood, Spot, or TrueHybrid, the choice is yours.
If you prefer a compact square housing for the auxiliary lights on your FourTrax ATV, consider a pair of DENALI D4 LED lights. Equally adept as fog lights, running lights, or work lights, each D4 body houses four ultra-bright Cree LEDs. The D4’s factory-installed hybrid lens places elliptical flood lenses over two of the LEDs and narrow-beam spot lenses over the other two, creating the ultimate hybrid pattern: a super-wide close-range flood and a piercing spot beam, all in one housing. Of course, each D4 kit includes the full TriOptic Lens System, so you can tailor each light’s beam to your needs.
The D4 and D7, along with many other DENALI lights including the ultra-compact D2 and DM -- both excellent options for fog lights and running lights for your FourTrax -- all include DENALI’s proprietary DataDim Technology. With the simple addition of a plug-and-play DataDim Controller, all of DENALI’s DataDim-enabled lights automatically switch between half- and full-intensity with your FourTrax’s OEM high beam switch. DENALI’s HotSwap wiring harness makes installation of any LED lighting kit on your FourTrax a breeze.
Aftermarket LED lighting for an ATV like the FourTrax needs to be rugged, durable, bright, and waterproof. DENALI lights fit the bill, with DrySeal Submersible Waterproof housings and switches, LiveActive Thermal Management technology to prevent light fade due to overheating, and Impact PC™ Polycarbonate Bezels that resist cracking, fading, and corrosion (unlike the more common aluminum bezels).
For simple installation and versatile beam adjustment, DENALI LED aux lights can be attached to your FourTrax using a selection of DENALI ATV mounting hardware, including bar clamps, flat brackets, and L-brackets, all available on the website under “Mounting.” Many of DENALI’s LED lights, such as the DRL Visibility Lighting Kit, the B6 Brake Light, and the Dual LED Backup Lighting Kit, can even be flush-mounted to your ATV’s plastics for an upgrade that looks like it came straight from the Honda factory.
See and be seen for miles and years to come with a DENALI LED lighting kit on your Honda FourTrax ATV!
