 Tony Prust – Analog Motorcycles

Tony Prust, owner of Analog Motorcycles, started the brand in 2008 out of passion, principal, and necessity. Combining skills from his past careers and interests including audio engineering, and carpentry, he focused his interests and imagination into creating motorcycles and components that were complex in thought and design, yet simple and pure in execution just like analog music, thus the monster was born. Tony works with all makes and models of motorcycles from BMW and BSA, to Yamaha and Zundapp. He specializes in the unloved orphans. The land of forgotten toys is his asylum, the misfits are the residents and Tony is the surgeon. To say that he loves a challenge is an understatement.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

TP: I have ridden scooters and off road bikes since I was a teenager and have been street riding motorcycles since 1994. I have ridden off road dirtbikes and quads in dirt, mud, gravel and sand dunes. Have had a street bike since 94 for road riding. Have done a lot of track riding since 2002 and started road racing in 2019. I currently daily ride a 2014 BMW RnineT and a KTM Exc530. I also have a KTM Superduke 990 and Hypermotard 796 I race on track. Looking at maybe an KTM 890 Duke R or Adventure in the future. They seem like the perfect bike for our new location in TN.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

TP: My biggest adventure is daily running the Analog Motorcycles and Motor Goods Brands. Finding new and creative ways to design and build custom bikes and parts. And our new road racing ventures have been our outlet for riding. Looking forward to more racing in 2021.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

TP: We have partnered with Denali Electronics for the past few years. They have an extensive product line and the Denali LED lighting options are incredible. Best bang for the buck in the industry for quality product by far. With the new racing program we are in love with the R&G crash protection and have unfortunately had to test out the products with the crash in the beginning of 2020. R&G Products saved the bike from a lot of damage.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

TP: We are looking forward to road racing again this year. As well as a few special custom motorcycle projects in the works. I also have a 1975 Travco RV that we might have to outfit up with some Denali LED lighting. That could be a pretty awesome project (just need to find time ;-).

At 14, Nipun commandeered his Dad’s motorcycle and fell hard, on the ground and also in love with two wheeled motor machines. He’s been racing in the dirt, fooling around off-road and shooting photos everywhere he tours ever since! He currently rides the BMW R1250GS, amongst a few other motorcycles he’s accumulated over the years. An avid 4×4 enthusiast, his daily driver is a tastefully modded Jeep. His passion is now his work as he leads a creative team for Image Drivers LLP (India).

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

Jim Pruner

Jim Pruner Twisted Throttle DENALI Ambassador Jim Pruner Twisted Throttle DENALI Ambassador Jim Pruner Twisted Throttle DENALI Ambassador Jim Pruner Twisted Throttle DENALI Ambassador

Jim likes all things called motorcycles regardless of size. Including electric motorcycles, trikes, and Vanderhall autocycles. He even likes Harley Davidsons and scooters! Jim doesn’t have hobbies, interests, politics, or religion… he has motorcycles.

He reluctantly works as a Heavy Duty Mechanic when required by his day job which sometimes dares to get in the way of his motorcycle life. Jim’s married to his photographer Jenna and they have three teenage children determined to consume all available food in their Airdrie, Alberta, Canada home.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

JP: I started riding motorcycles at 12 years of age, 34 years ago! I began riding trail bikes, then moved on-road a few years later. 6 years go I discovered adventure motorcycles and it was a perfect marriage of dirt and asphalt riding that I crave. Currently, I own a 2019 KTM 790 Adventure, a 2018 Piaggio Typhoon 50cc scooter, and a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja H2SX SE. I’m likely trading the Ninja in for the new 2021 Harley Davidson Pan America in a few weeks, but not until I see the bike first to fully decide.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

JP: Due to COVID restrictions, I spent 2020 riding in the Canadian Rockies… which isn’t overrated at all. In 2018 and 2019, I rode to Tuktoyaktuk, NWT, in California, and southern France. I had plans to go explore the Baja this year, but it doesn’t look too promising at this point. There’s always 2022, right?

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

JP: I got a taste of what’s possible when it comes to upgrading a motorcycle last year through my participation in the Twisted Throttle Ambassadorship program. My Ninja H2SX SE is a thing of envy now amongst my friends. The Denali SoundBomb horn and S2 lights are especially popular. I installed a Scottoiler E-System v3.1 on the 790 as well. I enjoyed creating how-to videos to save other people frustration and time should they follow that same path of aftermarket products. I’m hoping to do more of the same in 2021.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

JP: If I end up with the Harley Pan America it’s going to be a year of unique discovery living with what the MoCo has created while seeing what Denali and Twisted Throttle can bring to the bike as well. I plan to participate in the WANDR 2021 Adventure Moto-Nav Rally in British Colombia aboard the Harley or my 790 depending on how things go. I also want to attempt to climb Molybdenite Peak on an adventure motorcycle of some kind. If the border to the US re-opens, then the Baja trip is back on the table with a west coast ride and possibly return north using the BDRs and Continental Divide Trail.

Skylar Weaver

Skylar Weaver Twisted Throttle Ambassador Skylar Weaver Twisted Throttle Ambassador Skylar Weaver Twisted Throttle Ambassador Skylar Weaver Twisted Throttle Ambassador

Skylar started his motorcycle career with an unplanned motorbike trek through Vietnam on his trusty 1967 110cc motorbike. He hasn’t looked backed since, and in August 2019 Skylar kicked off a grand Pan-American motorcycle adventure from Washington DC to Patagonia to raise awareness of Alopecia. As of the March 2020, he has made it to El Salvador and will plan on reaching Patagonia over the next year. Follow the adventure on Instagram @sky_earth_water and @AdventuresForAlopecia, and check out his website for more information on the cause: www.ProjectAFA.org.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

SW: My first foray into the moto world was in Hanoi, Vietnam when I made a spur-of-the-moment purchase of my 110cc, $250 steed that took my backpack and I across the whole of rural Vietnam to Ho Chi Minh. That introed me to ADV touring, taught me engine power isn’t everything, and poised me for my next big adventure…

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

SW:Starting in August 2019, I kicked off my solo, multi-year, cross-continent moto adventure from Washington, DC to Patagonia for charity. Moving slow, enjoying the road, and immersing myself in cultures throughout, I’ve now made it 5,000 miles through the US, Mexico, Guatemala, and am writing this from El Salvador!

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

SW: Twisted Throttle has already been an amazing supporter of my grand charity ride, with each piece of gear they’ve provided being invaluable. A trip like this takes you through some varied environments — I need gear that can handle it all. Twisted Throttle and their partners provide exactly that.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

SW: In 2021 I will continue my Pan-American moto Adventure for Alopecia, moving south from El Salvador where I currently am, through Central America, around the Darien Gap, into Colombia and around South America all the way to Ushuaia: “the end of the world”. And all of this for charity to raise awareness of Alopecia—an auto-immune disorder I have that causes spontaneous hair loss—through a nonprofit I founded called Adventures for Alopecia.

Julie Nordskog

Julie Nordskog Twisted Throttle DENALI Ambassador Julie Nordskog Twisted Throttle DENALI Ambassador Julie Nordskog Twisted Throttle DENALI Ambassador Julie Nordskog Twisted Throttle DENALI Ambassador

Julie’s first love was a Harley-Davidson 1972 Sportser Ironhead. Over the past five years, she has learned to ride dual sport on her KLR 650 and excelled as a long-distance touring rider on her 2019 H-D Road Glide. She qualified as a member of the Iron Butt Association (2015), completed the New Mexico Backcountry Discovery Route (2018).Julie is a two-time Finisher the 10,000-mile Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge (2018, 2020).Through riding and writing (blogs, print magazines), Julie strives to support and promote women in the motorcycling community. Julie’s next motorcycle challenges are the Arizona Backcountry Discovery Route in 2021 and the Hoka Hey in 2022.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

JN: I learned to ride in 1995 on a ’72 Harley-Davidson Sportster Ironhead. It wasn’t until 2015, after along break for family, that I began riding more seriously. That year, I became an Iron Butt Association member with the completion of a 1,000-mile ride in under 24 hours on an H-D Dyna Glide. And it wasn’t long before the ADV world captured my imagination. I dreamed (still do) of riding my KLR 650 to Tierradel Fuego, the Southernmost tip of Argentina and Chile. Although I’ll admit I’m more skilled at touring than off-roading, I love both styles of riding. Currently, I own a 2019 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, 2001Kawasaki KLR 650, and a 2014 Yamaha TW-200.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

JN: In March 2018, my husband and I completed the New Mexico Backcountry Discovery Route. We spent ten days trail-riding and camping. In July of the same year, I became an official Finisher of the10,000-mile Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge on my stock H-D Dyna. Riders never know what to expect on the HHMC, as we are not told the route in advance. We receive printed directions from checkpoint to checkpoint (about 2,500 miles apart) and cannot use GPS. It’s an adventure of the unknown on secondary backroads around the country.

To qualify as a Hoka Hey Finisher, one must adhere to the route exactly (and they know because all riders carry commercial trackers). If you get lost, you must return to the exact point you deviated from the route and start over. Well… sometimes the journey is a little more than 10,000 miles. I jokingly call these “bonus miles” although, in the moment, getting lost doesn’t seem so funny. Nonetheless, the HHMC is not a race. It’s about your personal journey and, come what may, finishing.

I rode about two-thirds of the 2018 route on my own. Completion took me 21 days. In 2020, I improved my Hoka Hey finish time to 14 days and qualified as an Elite Finisher.

By the way, my Denali auxiliary lights on my ’19 Road Glide made a huge difference on this most recent run! I’m running Denali D-7s and DR-2s. I was able to ride longer hours and felt safer both night and day.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

JN: The combination of these two rides—the NMBDR and the Hoka Hey– made me appreciate how much the gear, preparation, and practice of ADV riding applies to and improves my experience as a long-distance rider. I’m so excited to partner with Twisted Throttle and Denali Electronics as I outfit myself and my Harley-Davidson ADV-style for the next great cross-country adventures. I want to learn everything you know!

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

JN: In July 2021, I plan to ride the Arizona BDR. In preparation, I’m doing some needed off-road training beforehand at Bill Dragoo Adventure Rider Training in Oklahoma. (I’m a little rusty after focusing on street riding for the past year.) I absolutely love my army green 2001 KLR650– I call him “The Hulk.” I’m hoping to restore Hulk to be up to the BDR task. If not, I’ll be on a Gen2 KLR.

I’ll also spend this year prepping the Harley and practicing for the next Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge in 2022.

Martin Moore

Martin Moore DENALI Ambassador Martin Moore DENALI Ambassador Martin Moore DENALI Ambassador Martin Moore DENALI Ambassador

Martin began riding dirt bikes at the age of 4 and quickly became obsessed with off-roading. After riding bikes his entire childhood, he took to the skies by becoming a Paratrooper in the US Army. While stationed in Louisiana his love for 4×4 off-roading really took full swing. Recently he has been moved to his dream state, Alaska. Here in Alaska Martin plans on doing everything there is to do, and getting there in his modern 4×4, a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off-Road.  Over the next year he’s gonna be doing a lot of modifications to his new ride, and taking it to the extreme in the country’s most treacherous terrain!

DE: How long have you been off-roading? What types of driving have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently driving?

MM: I actually got into off-roading at a pretty young age with dirt bikes! I used to ride every chance I got and longed to become a professional enduro racer. School and other hobbies got in the way of me ever seeing that dream to fruition and now I am in the Army. While in the Military I have done a ton of off-roading in trucks, SUVs, and sometimes even small cars! I have recently purchased a Toyota Tacoma, and I hope it will be able to take me on many more off-roading adventures!

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

MM: My career has sort of kept me around two main areas of the United States; Louisiana and Alaska. Louisiana is where I gained most of my off-roading experience whilst conducting military training operations. I also traveled over to Texas, Mississippi, and back home to Tennessee. Alaska is the next chapter for me. After only being here for a year, I have seen more and been more active than ever before! I’m excited to see what other things I can get accomplished in just this year!

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

MM: I’m excited to help push Denali Electronics into a new market! I feel as though their products are high quality and affordably priced and they NEED to get into the off-road vehicle seen. I’m really hoping I can help with photography, exhibiting their lights on my soon-to-be awesome modern off-road rig in the harshest terrain the United States has to offer! Does it also help that I can take photos in Denali National Park, Alaska? Haha!

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

MM: This year I will be focusing on building out the Tacoma. I have lots of plans to make this truck into the ultimate off road adventure machine!

DE: Where can people follow/find you?

MM: You can find me on Instagram as @mooretato_salad.

Alain Labadie

Alain Labadie Twisted Throttle Ambassador Alain Labadie Twisted Throttle Ambassador Alain Labadie Twisted Throttle Ambassador

Alain is known to those that have ridden with him as that guy that can never get enough. Whether he is going alone, with a few buddies, guiding groups or participating on a tour, Alain rides a lot. Distances are measured in days, with the standard being about 600 miles (1000 km) or 12 hours a day, for many, many days in a row. Highways, byways, backroads, they’re all part of the adventure. He does most of his wrenching and constantly puts its gear and equipment through the test every day. He is known for never losing his smile and to keep going even when things get tough. As the founder and editor in chief at MagazineMoto.com, he loves to share the road and the adventures.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

AL: I got back to riding more than 20 years ago. And it 2006, I went on my first long distance trip from Québec to the west coast and back. I was hooked ! I have few riding buddies and we all share that pleasure that comes with the distance – the more, the better. On the other hand, I absolutely love to guide groups, at a different rhythm of course. I have had the opportunity to ride a fair bit over Europe, New-Zealand and South Africa. About 2 years ago I traded my very old and trusty “adventure” Goldwing for a BMW GS Adventure – both as well suited to my riding !

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

AL: I have ridden all over North America, from Key West to Alaska, and from San Ysidro to Madawaska and over to the rock (Newfoundland). Whenever I go on a tour in Europe, I always plan for a week or two of riding by myself before joining the group. This has given me the opportunity to ride through southern Spain and Portugal on my way to Morocco. I love the Alps and the Dolomites and I have spent weeks riding all over the place in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria …

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

AL: Over the years, I have ordered and installed lots of products from Twisted Throttle/Denali – both on my own bikes and others. I am always impressed with both the quality and the service. There is some experience behind those products and it shows.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

AL: There is a fair bit of the planning that will evolve with the situation. I am currently scheduled to guide a group over Western Canada. And I have lots of adventures planned in Québec and Ontario. I am always interested in those “end of the road” adventures and that means riding north from here most of the time. So I will go as far west as I can, but I will also surely go north ‘till I run out of roads.

Jim Blackburn

Jim Blackburn DENALI Ambassador Jim Blackburn DENALI Ambassador Jim Blackburn DENALI Ambassador

Jim is an aircraft maintenance engineer from the UK who has a passion for all things motorcycle and racing related. He’s always looking for the next bike adventure and enjoys building and maintaining his own machines. This year with the help of one of his best friends Ben, Jim is building a bike to race in the Freetech endurance championship where they will share the riding, building and maintenance of the bike. As well as racing, he’s a keen road rider who enjoys trips away on his MT10.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

JB: I’ve been riding motorcycles for around 12 years. Initially I started out racing mini-moto’s at the age of 15, I then went on to race pitbike supermoto at national level for around 5 years. I started road riding in 2015 and currently ride a Yamaha MT-10. I enjoy racing on track and also have a love for touring in europe.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

JB: Initially when racing this was all over the UK. In 2019 I rode from the UK to Italy via 8 countries in 8 days.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

JB: We are excited to partner up with Denali electronics as we take on the Freetech Streetstock endurance racing championship for the first time in 2021. We’re looking forward to pushing not only ourselves and our bike to the limit but also seeing how the Denali lights will perform during 12 and 24 hour races.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

JB: Our project is to build our Aprilia RS4 125 to compete in the Freetech Streetstock Endurance championship. This year our biggest thing to look forward to is the 24 hour race at Teeside Autodrome.

Bret Scheinfeld

Bret Scheinfeld Twisted Throttle Ambassador Bret Scheinfeld Twisted Throttle Ambassador Bret Scheinfeld Twisted Throttle Ambassador Bret Scheinfeld Twisted Throttle Ambassador

Bret is a motorcyclist, audio engineer, photographer, and coffee enthusiast. He worked in the sound department on dozens of TV shows and movies before escaping New York City for a quieter life in the Sierra Nevada foothills, which may or may not currently be on fire. He shares a studio apartment with a drum set, an espresso machine, two basil plants, and a Honda ST1100.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

BS: I have 18 years of motorcycling experience including year-round riding as a commuter in New York City and multiple cross-country adventures from NYC to Nashville, Chicago, and California. I currently ride a 2002 Honda ST1100, a sport-tourer that’s equally adept at tackling hundreds of miles on California’s wide-open freeways and carving through twisties in the high Sierra.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

BS: Since buying my first adventure-tourer (a 2006 Triumph Tiger 955i) in 2015, I’ve done nearly 30,000 miles of two-wheeled road tripping. From New York to North Carolina, Nashville, Chicago, and California, I’ve had so many unforgettable experiences. I’ve made life-long friends, ridden incredible roads and trails, tackled all kinds of weather, and camped everywhere from a truck stop to the Grand Canyon. With every adventure, I become a better rider, and I fall more in love with this beautiful country and all it has to offer.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

BS: As a certified motorcycle instructor since 2015, I have made it my goal to help riders improve their skills, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable riding career. Ultimately, Twisted Throttle’s mission is the same as mine – to improve riders’ safety and comfort through tried-and-true products and exceptional technical support. A partnership with Twisted Throttle will enable me to connect other motorcyclists with a company that shares my values — a company dedicated to improving the ride.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

BS: I am looking forward to multiple trips up north on my new-to-me Honda ST1100, starting with Humboldt (only a five-hour ride), where my dear friend has been restoring a 1977 Harley-Davidson FLH Shovelhead. Whenever I visit, he teaches me a thing or two about wrenching on old Harleys, and we take a 300-mile ride to get a slice of pizza. I swear, motorcycle friends are the best friends a person could hope for.

I’m also on the lookout for a dual-sport. Ever since I lost my Tiger — there was an incident last year involving a bear, and I’ll just leave it at that — I’ve been missing the ability to turn off and explore jeep trails and fire roads. In my neck of the woods, there are hundreds of miles of Forest Service and BLM trails just begging to be ridden. If anyone has a spare DR-Z400…

DE: Where can people follow/find you?

BS: I’m on instagram as @SoundsLikeBret, where I post everything from my photography and musical projects to my motorcycle adventures and behind-the-scenes pictures from my work on movies and TV shows.

Joao Vis

Joao Vis DENALI Ambassador 2021 Joao Vis DENALI Ambassador 2021 Joao Vis DENALI Ambassador 2021 Joao Vis DENALI Ambassador 2021

João Vis is a 37-year-old dual sport ADV rider and a proud owner of the BMW R 1250 GSA which he named @Sentinel_GSA. As a full-time commercial photographer, he is always looking for unique images to capture. Whether it’s architecture or motorcycles, he tries to captivate the viewer with something extraordinary and provides clear information to inspire and/or entertain. Regardless of his passion for motorcycles, these are nothing compared to the love he has for his wife and son with whom he hopes to embark on many magnificent motorcycle trips in the future.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

JV: Coming from an MX background I picked up riding motorcycles at an early age. Growing into adulthood I kept both my Honda CR250’s but failed to ride them as often as I had hoped. Yet, those off-road trails never seized to whisper my name and therefore my love for dualsport and ADV motorcycles became a fact.

In the following years I found myself rubbing my thigs against two previous BMW R1200 GSA models. Albeit they were both great bikes, they proved no match to my current ride as I’m very grateful calling the ’20 BMW R1250 GSA my own.

My BMW R1250 GSA is named ‘Sentinel’ referring to the bold, don’t-mess-with-me look that left many in awe. Sentinel is a full-option, all-matt-black coated & custom painted R1250 GS ADV and is widely featured on Instagram. Various installed premium aftermarket parts and accessories help distinguish and contribute to Sentinels overall look. Whereas most riders will recognize Sentinel by the forward-facing, one of a kind ‘Quad Denali D7 setup’ which are predominant to its appearance.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

JV: Based in Amsterdam (The Netherlands, EU) I find myself with endless options in all directions to partake on cross border travels for a quick change of scenery. Usually, I am reviewing and plotting ACT/TET GPX routes preferably to the sunny Mediterranean. However, those vast & winding Scandinavian roads also tantalize my senses for which I try to include Norway in future travels.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

JV: Sentinel heralds a brand identity that is referred to as LΞGION Motorcycles which is powered by a select number of premium brands. In that regard, we believe that both Twisted Throttle and Denali Electronics deserve our support and that joining forces – in return – adds to Sentinel’s intent as well as all future endeavors of LΞGION Motorcycles.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

JV: I am excited and thrilled for the “2022 GS Trophy Qualifiers” to be held in April this year and the preparations needed to keep my driving skills on point. As this competition is held in high regard throughout the community, I expect to showcase many aspects of this race through my channel.

DE: Where can people follow/find you?

Better yet, also checkout the Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/legionmotorcycles/ as it will feature similar content but also behinds the scenes footage of how we move forward in building our legion with LΞGION Motorcycles.

After a series of unfortunate events, Brady put his life on hold in 2017 and left home from Wyoming on a poorly packed and already abused 2003 Harley FXDP. The adage “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there” found its home. The road and it’s treasures offered perspective, healing, community, culture and a never ending path for exploration and moto-meditation. He has since launched a lifestyle brand with his closest friends, traveled the world and committed himself to contributing to the culture and community that offered him a sanctuary when he needed it most. Catch him on the road, he’ll never refuse good company, just be ready for a different “speed” of living. Go Fast, Don’t Die.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

BM: I’ve been casually riding about 10 years, but REALLY started riding intentionally and pouting miles on since 2017. I rides street, cross-country, dirt bikes, flat rack occasionally and anything else I can get in. Ride whatever, says I. Icy favorite really is whatever I’m doing at the time. I even won a world champion mini bike enduro once, and as much as I hated it, I loved every minute 🙂

Currently riding an assortment of Harley cruisers, a Honda CRF450R, a Coleman mini bike, a 1981 Honda XR500 custom build (still in the works – stay tuned) and some race sportsters. One for hooligans flat track and one for un upcoming hooligan desert Enduro – that should be a fun project!

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

BM: I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on the list! In the last few yearsI’ve covered most of the US – been east coast to west a few times, down south into the valleys and deserts of Mexico, Baja, Thailand, Indonesia and many a small town America. I’ve enjoyed it all for what it is. The world is a fascinating place from a motorcycle.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

BM: I love being a part of the mix with other energy in the motorcycle scene. Twisted Throttle and Denali add value and make the building/ function/ aesthetic part of it far more functional and interesting. We launch Go Fast Garage Co this spring and I’m thrilled to continue to showcase Denali & TT on our builds going forward – to look at, and to go use in the wild.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

BM: Yes!!! Lots of trips, and right now a 100 mile desert race on a hooligan Harley Sportster has me fired up and terrified. Stoke level is high.

DE: Where can people follow/find you?

BM: People can find me on Instagram at @bradytildeath, our projects at @gofastgarageco and our lifestyle/ ethos at @gofastdontdie. Be a friend, I love social media for it’s connection to like minds 🙂

Jonathon Ross is the adventure enthusiast behind the social media channels @2wheeladv. Basically anything with two wheels has his name on it. His passion for motorcycle riding began as a kid tinkering in the garage with his father, which included rebuilding classic bikes. Riding has become an outlet and source of inspiration as an adult, especially as Jon also enjoys the camping aspect of motorcycling. His blog includes honest and straightforward reviews of Moto and camping gear, as well as photojournalism of some epic adventures, including some with his wife 2-up.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

JR: I began riding as a child, paused while traveling the country and world in a different capacity as a world class competitive athlete in my teen years, and then resumed riding in my early 20s. I have diverse riding experience on a variety of machines, including dirt bikes, dual sports, adventure bikes, and admittedly, cruisers. My favorite type of riding is off the beaten path. At this time, I am primarily riding a Triumph Scrambler 1200XE, BMW R19 Scrambler, and Honda 250.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

JR: I have extensively toured my home state of Florida, both on and off road, from Key West to the Panhandle. I conquered the Dalton Highway to Prudhoe Bay, AK. Other adventures have included several parts of the Eastern and Western U.S., Canada, including Nova Scotia, Mexico, and several Caribbean Islands.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

JR: I have experienced both Twisted Throttle and Denali Electronics as a consumer over the years at various motorcycle events. I have always been pleased with their customer service and dedication to linking the consumer with quality bike parts, and am excited to see where my partnership with them in a different capacity can take us.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

JR: First up on the agenda for 2021 is welcoming twin girls into our growing family. In the process of recovering from that, I have a few shorter, closer to home rides planned as therapy for this soon to be father of 3 under 3. COVID-pending, I would like to travel to Europe at the end of this year.

Kane Wagner

Kane Wagner Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021 Kane Wagner Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021 Kane Wagner Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021

Kane is the founder of Appalachian ADV – Adventure & Dual Sport Motorbiking LLC, formed as an outlet for creativity in written word, captured visual art, and route development. Two wheels and a motor are his adrenaline junkie delivery system of choice, providing natural highs delivered through dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins that act as the catalysts for his motorbiking experience. His goal is to bring people of diverse backgrounds together to create common bonds through shared adversity on his “ADV Dual Sporting” routes as well as building confidence by overcoming those joyous hardships. Kane and Appalachian ADV aim to use motorbikes, the beauty and challenges of nature, and a healthy dose of those happy hormones to give people opportunities to enjoy life, unplug, find much needed commonality, and to Have Fun, Take Chances…

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

KW: My journey as a motorcyclist began ten years ago, with my good buddy Gabe coaxing me along all the way into a 2006 Suzuki V-Strom 650. The Wee saw many miles of twisty pavement in the beginning as I built my skills, but as the years have passed I have gone further down the path of ADV riding. The past couple years I have been developing Appalachian ADV’s trademark style, “ADV Dual Sporting”: mashing aspects of ADV and Dual Sport styles together specifically for the Adventure bikes. Helping me along in that journey are my partners, the 2021 Yamaha Tenere 700 also known as the #TankTenere700 and my 2012 Husqvarna TE310 also known as the #HardcoreHusq.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

KW: The trusty Wee Strom carried me through many adventures over the years, from the Alpine Loop in southwest Colorado to the Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route over here on the East Coast and many places in between. Lately with the help of the #TankTenere700, a lot of my riding has been concentrated in eastern Ohio as well as central and western Pennsylvania scouting ADV and “ADV Dual Sporting” routes. All of these ADVentures have led me to start Appalachian ADV, a place for me to share stories and recruit fellow Adventurists to follow me on these developed routes in the form of group rides and rallies.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

KW: “ADV Dual Sporting” can be rough on the #TankTenere700! Partnering with a great company like Twisted Throttle will help me keep the T7 protected and fitted with the proper shoes to carry me further down that trail. As I continue to build Appalachian ADV, the Twisted Throttle Ambassadorship will also help me spread the word on the joys, challenges, and rewards of ADV motorcycling and hopefully get more people out there riding and enjoying life.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

KW: This year the plan is to expand Appalachian ADV’s group rides and rallies to help spread the joy of riding motorbikes through the (sometimes harsh) beauty of nature. We have three in the works for 2021 including “The Fools Ride on April Fools Ride”, the “Allegheny Backcountry Adventure Loop”, and “The PA Wilds Hardcore ADV Tour”. I will also be working on beautifying a family heirloom, my 1974 Harley Shovelhead.

DE: Where can people follow/find you?

KW: You can follow me on Appalachian ADV’s website (www.appalachianadv.com), Instagram via Kane.AppalachianADV, on Facebook and YouTube as Appalachian ADV, or via email at Kane@AppalachianADV.com.  You can find me riding the #TankTenere700, occasionally through inhospitable terrain, enjoying nature, frequently (but not always) in the wilderness of the PA Wilds and Allegheny National Forest, or the hilly terrain of eastern Ohio including Wayne National Forest and the Ohio River Valley, usually with a big goofy smile on my face.

Yermo Lamers

Yermo Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021 Yermo Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021 Yermo Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021 Yermo Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021

Yermo describes himself as a software guy, motorcyclist, and reluctant writer. He learned to ride and program computers in the same year, at the age of 7. He has ridden consistently since then and has traveled across the country 6 times including the run up the Dalton to Deadhorse, Alaska from DC, on street tires no less. When he isn’t out on one of his adventures, he’s busy constructing a social platform for motorcycle travelers, miles-by-motorcycle.com, where motorcyclists will be able to plan, document, and share their travel stories. He has also been known to write on a number of topics related to motorcycling and computing.

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

YL: I’ve been riding for 45 years now continuously, which seems like an awfully long time now. I started when I was 7. I do a mix of sport touring and ADV riding. I swore I would never find myself on a track but I will now do the occasional track day and have done all four levels of the Keith Code California Superbike school. I have a ’92 K100RS which has been down for a bit due to an engine swap project. I also have a ’99 BMW R1100S as a guest bike, and a built ’09 Suzuki DR650SE.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

YL: I’ve found myself ADV riding in the mountains of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia helping America Rides Maps. I’ve done sport touring trips through much of Virginia and West Virginia also helping map. In 2016, I attempted the Trans Am Trail. I did not make it.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

YL: I have always held Twisted Throttle in high regard and look forward to doing more with DENALI I get approached by many less reputable, in my eye, brands that I turn away. But to work with a quality brand with quality people is always a treat.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

YL: I am hoping to ride the MABDR in the fall depending on the COVID situation. I was supposed to ride out to Colorado for a challenging
Alpine Loop ride, along with several others. I have to cancel all my trips, unfortunately. I doing a huge engine swap project on my ’92 K100RS which I’ve been documenting on my site. I’m also going to attempt to fab up some custom mounting hardware for my DR650 so I can review the Denali lighting system.

Trevor Dech

Trevor Dech Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021 Trevor Dech Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021 Trevor Dech Twisted Throttle Ambassador 2021

Trevor started coaching riders in 1991 and has since taught over 27,000 riders from basic street riding to get your license to advanced track riding. Trevor also has won two road racing Championships one in Superbike and the other in the Heavy weight classes. He has taken many courses since 2007 including Freddie Spencer’s pro school, all levels of California superbike, Reg Pridmores class riding school and most recently have attended the Yamaha Champions Riding School which he has now graduated to one of their 3C certified instructors. Trevor got into Off-Road more seriously in 2012 with a guy named JR Macrae and soon after started coaching with JR at the Blackfoot/ BMW off road program in Calgary and has also attended Rawhydes off road course. He has travelled through the Mojave desert and has ridden the entire Baja peninsula with Chris Haines. He has also attended Rich Oliver’s Mystery school and Colin Edwards Texas Tornado boot camp. He also runs a one day off road course at the school he owns called Too Cool Motorcycle School in Calgary Alberta. He just loves everything to do with riding and coaching riding

DE: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What types of riding have you done over the years and what is your favorite? What are you currently riding?

TD: I have been off-road riding since 2012. I have done motocross when I was younger then street riding. Track is where I spent a lot of my time since the late 80’s then started coaching in 1991. Then got into adventure riding more seriously in 2012. Think my favorite is riding at a racetrack and and a close second would be riding on gravel roads where it is nice and peaceful. I am currently riding a 2016 Honda Africa Twin with DCT. It is an amazing ride 50,000 k on it so far.

DE: Where have your adventures taken you in the last few years?

TD: I have been to Las Vegas to take courses and ridden in Nevada. Taken course with Rawhyde in California and rode through the Mojave Desert. Went on a tour with Chris Haines and rode all the way from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas in 6 days. Love the Baja community. Rode with Colin Edwards at his tornado boot camp and Rich Oliver at his school just outside of Fresno. Just to name a few.

DE: Why are you excited to partner with DENALI Electronics?

TD: I am excited to partner with Denali electronics because it gives me a chance to show first hand how proper lighting can make you more visible and safe. When students get to see your Denali products first hand. They will be more willing to purchase that product because they actually have seen what it can do and that we as instructors believe in it. Or we would not have it on our machines.

DE: What do you have to look forward to this year? Any big projects or adventures in the works?

TD: For 2021 we are increasing our class sizes to get closer to our pre Covid size. We hope to coach over 600 new riders and with the building of a track have our advanced course once again. We are also planning on increasing our frequency of our off road program because of its popularity. We are also going to be working with Harley with their new adventure machine. We are also looking into organizing a charity ride with “NIMC” for 2021.
