The Austrian motorcycle company that made its name on big-displacement V-twin adventure-touring models and lightweight, woods-ready dual-sport singles with a taste for blood awoke one day deciding that there was a place for a midsized adventure motorcycle for that gap in between. That is, in short, how KTM came to produce the 790 Adventure models, which share a new-design twin-cylinder engine with the now-compulsory 270-degree crankshaft layout that makes you almost think you’re riding a V-twin. That this engine is light, short front to back, and more than powerful enough for true off-road riding as well as long-distance touring is just so much better.
With this generation, KTM’s headlights have improved from its earlier efforts, but DENALI can make rides on the 790 Adventure and Adventure R feel more confident on the trail and much better seen on city streets as well as tree-lined backroads. For the KTM 790 Adventure, DENALI actually has two different exact-fit, bike-specific LED light mounts available. One is designed strictly for DENALI’s ultra-compact (but very bright) DM LED motorcycle light, and tucks the lights in just below the headlight so tightly and neatly you’d think KTM designed them into the original plans. The kit comes with the brackets you need, two DM lights prefitted with amber lenses (white lenses can be added later if you want), as well as a full wiring harness that can be fitted with a DataDim module to allow for dual brightness without adding any more wire.
DENALI’s other offering or the 790 Adventure R and 790 Adventure is a dedicated light-mount kit that fits any of DENALI’s advanced LED driving lights, from the magnificent D7, whose total of 14 LEDs produce more than 15,000 lumens, through the popular four-LED D4 to the compact and affordable S4, all the way through the DM, DR1, and D2. As always, the DENALI light mount for the KTM 790 Adventure is made of strong, durable steel powder-coated for weather resistance.
One way to control any of DENALI’s LED lights is through the CANsmart Accessory Controller, which can manage two sets of accessory or driving lights, one awesomely loud SoundBomb horn, and a brilliant DENALI B6 tail light.
