The BMW GS is a historic adventure bike to begin with, but can be made better with the addition of LED lighting accessories from DENALI Electronics. LED spot lights and fog lights will allow you to see more of the road and help others see you better. BMW R1300 GS / Adventure Lighting & Accessories

The BMW R1300GS appears to be everything the the previous generation was only lighter, faster, and with more technology. The new R1300GS is feature-rich to compete with the other big-bore adventure bikes. Rugged, fun to ride and immensely capable, the big GS is pretty much everything you want in an adventure bike.

But while it’s been upgraded with LED lighting already, it can be made radically better with DENALI’s auxiliary driving lights. Like the former generation GS, the R1300GS is able to be equipped with any product from the DENALI lineup, including the new DENALI D7 Pro Driving Lights!  In the same way that the 1300GS is a huge upgrade from the previous generation, the D7 Pro packs more performance and features in the same footprint as the previous D7. For your GS and GS-A, choose from a range of mounts, including a special vehicle-specific mount as well as a converter to use existing factory mounts. You can even choose a DENALI option to mount your lights on the crashbar or engine guard.

Other options for your BMW R1300GS and GS Adventure include DENALI’s popular four-light D4, the compact and cost-effective square-format S4, and bright, effective DRLs. All of DENALI’s lighting products can be set up for single intensity or dual-intensity with the exclusive DataDIM technology, but for the new R1300GS/GSA, there’s a better option in the CANsmart and DialDim controllers. CANsmart uses the brains already aboard the BMW to control two sets of lights, a locomotive-loud SoundBomb horn, and a B6 LED brake light all from the existing handlebar controls. With CANsmart, it’s possible to automatically dim the driving lights based on the high and low beam, flash them when you honk the horn, and myriad other combinations that improve safety and peace of mind on the road—or on the trail. Even better, CANsmart makes the already-easy DENALI installation even simpler. CANsmart is totally plug and play, with weatherproof connectors and a scheme that lets you do it right the first time. Put your soldering iron away, Chet. The plug-and-play DialDim Controller for the R1300GS allows you to control up to two light circuits from the halo switch and run your other accessories from your CANsmart Controller. The DialDim provides instant feedback on the brightness of your lights, your battery level, and even incorporates intelligent light features like cancel/strobe with signal, strobe with horn, and more!

BMW’s R1300GS and GS Adventure are the culmination of decades of adventure bike development out of Bavaria and that’s true of DENALI’s world-beating LED lighting products developed in the United States. With years of development and after listening to thousands of GS owners, DENALI has an unmatched product line that fits into the BMW R1300's world with perfection. Outfit your GS like never before with DENALI motorcycle driving lights.

How to Install Electrical Accessories - OEM Wiring Overview

Now that we know what fits the R1300GS, let's take closer look at OEM wiring so you can easily identify connectors and install any type of electrical accessories with confidence!

(1) Finding Switched Power to Install Any Type of Electrical Accessory

It's important to utilize switched power for accessories, in order to avoid parasitic draw from our gadgets. BMW decided that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. That's why you can find the same style accessory connector beneath the dash. So, if you want to power an additional DRL or perhaps a charger for your device, you can use our Switched Power Adapter for Select BMW Motorcycles.

You'll find the Accessory Connector behind the dash, and will find Switched 12V Power to be the Red wire.

(2) Accessing Turn Signal, Running, and Brake Light Circuits

Gaining access to the factory turn signal wiring is very convenient on the R1300GS. This is helpful if you decide to upgrade your turn signals, or integrate a Universal DialDim. By retrieving a signal from the indicator, you can unlock a great DialDim feature, which will flash auxiliary lights in addition to your indicators and tell high powered driving lights to drop out so the indicator doesn't get washed out.

The front turn signal connectors are both under the upper fender, on their respective sides of the bike. Removing the fender will reveal half of the connector set, which removing the fuel tank shroud will reveal them completely. Taking the fuel tank shroud off isn't required, but it helps.

The vehicle side of each connector is wired with Power (Blue with Red Stripe) and Ground (Brown). The Indicator side will be seen as Power (Red) and Ground (Black).

Beneath the rear pillion, you'll find connectors for the rear turn signals. New for the R1300GS is an integrated Turn/Running/Brake, so if you were expecting a 2-Pin connector you'll find that it has 4-Pins.

The connector for the left light assembly is laid out with Ground (Brown) + Left Turn Signal (Black with White Stripe) + Running Light (Yellow) + Brake (Gray with Red Stripe).

The right assembly can be identified by its own wire colors, showing as Ground (Brown) + Right Turn Signal (Teal) + Running Light (Yellow) + Brake (Gray with Red Stripe).
