For a company so steeped in tradition and so closely allied to the big-inch cruiser category, Indian obviously knows how to slip past the guards and infiltrate new categories. That’s the mission of the FTR: a street going dirt-track-styled motorcycle with real performance to go with its rakish styling. Think of it as a cross between an American-style dirt-tracker and, maybe, a Ducati Monster. But don’t be fooled: Indian has given the FTR all the performance that demanding riders want. Lots of power, top-tier suspension and brakes, all with a riding position that’s as perfect for bombing along a mountain road as tackling the daily commute.
These kinds of super-flexible bikes are home field for DENALI and our line of LED motorcycle lights. Choose one of DENALI’s clamp-style mounts to place any of our LED driving lights onto the front of the Indian FTR. Our mounts are designed to accommodate any of the DENALI lights, from the smallest DM to the biggest, brightest D7. The Clamp Mounts also provide an independent perch adjustment so that the mounting tab isn’t locked into the angle of the attaching tube, which makes them ideal for connecting a DENALI motorcycle driving light to a fork tube, for example.
Styling is an important part of the FTR’s attitude, and you’ll be happy to know that you won’t have unsightly wires hanging around with a DENALI light kit. That’s because each light kit comes with a fully sheathed, high-capacity wiring harness and pre-fitted, water-resistant connectors that blend in with the FTR’s serious lines. For that matter, every DENALI light has a long pigtail on the light pod itself so that you can hide the first connector where it’s convenient. Yes, we’ve thought of everything. Plus, each light kit comes complete with the needed power relay, all termination hardware, and even zip ties. If you want to add dual-intensity function to any of DENALI’s lights, just add the DataDim module, which plugs right in and provides the option for running your lights at two intensity levels.
Other options for Indian’s new FTR streetbike include DENALI’s revolutionary DRL modules, which offer important improvements in your visibility on the road, and can be mounted to the fork legs, fender mounts, or even to the radiator surround. Out back, a DENALI B6 tail light will alert drivers behind you that you’ve put the FTR’s pie-plate front discs to work, and they won’t rear-end you like some modern day Jay Springsteen going for the lead at the San Jose Mile.
