(1) How to Wire Electrical Accessories - Harley-Davidson Pan America - OEM Wiring Overview
In this first video, we strip down the bike to give you a detailed overview of the Pan America’s OEM wiring harness so you can easily identify connectors and install any type of electrical accessories with confidence! We’ll also give you a sneak peek of the various light mounts, horn mounts, wiring adapters, and LED lighting controllers that we will be developing for the Pan America and featuring in our future videos.
(2) How to Install DRLs, Horns & Brake Lights - Harley-Davidson Pan America - DENALI Wiring Guide
In this second video, we show you how we developed, and how to install, the top three visibility and safety products for the Harley-Davidson Pan America. For DENALI, that includes DLRs, turn signals, brake lights, and our ear-splitting SoundBomb air horns! Starting with our front T3 Switchback Turn Signals we show you how to use our plug-&-play wiring adapter to install our modular T3 pods. They can be installed on the Pan America handguards or as an upgrade kit for the factory front turn signals. We then explore LED accessory options for rear visibility lighting and show you how easy it is to install a set of DENALI rear T3 turn signals that run and brake red but switch back to amber in sync with your factory turn signals. We conclude the video with an overview of our SoundBomb air horn and give you a demo of just how loud this sucker really is. Don’t forget to like and subscribe so you can be notified when we release the future videos in this series.
(3) How to Install Dimmable LED Lighting - Harley-Davidson Pan America - DENALI Wiring Guide
In this third video, we show you how we developed, and how to install, LED driving lights and fog lights on our vehicle specific mounting options. We also give you a complete overview and install tutorial of our groundbreaking DialDim Lighting Controller which allows you to independently control two sets of lights from one consolidated halo dimmer switch. The DialDim is a universal lighting controller that can be installed on any 12v motorcycle, ATV, Side by Side, Jeep, or truck. We can also swap in a plug-&-play wiring adapter to make the installation even easier. We finish the video by showing you all of the unique features and intuitive ways to control our premium LED lighting.
Harley-Davidson Pan America Overview
From the category of “what will they do next?” Harley-Davidson, consistent purveyor of chrome-laden custom and over-the-top touring motorcycles, decided that BMW and KTM had had enough time alone in the adventure-touring market and launched an all-new model called the Pan America. Not only is the PA a totally new category for Harley—though the company did dabble in dirt models early on and is well known for its exploits in dirt track racing—it launches an entirely new engine and chassis. That’s aggressive.
No low-revving, air-cooled monster V-twin here. No, the 1250cc V-twin engine has all the high-tech features BMW and Ducati have deployed into the ADV market so far: variable valve timing housed in a narrow-angle V-twin. It’s almost like Harley borrowed the KTM-standard layout and added features Ducati and BMW enjoyed. Electronics are standard (modern) fare with traction control, multi-mode ABS, and ride modes. And yet the result is something unique. Two models launched the PA, the base bike and the Special, which has semi-active Showa suspension and a cool feature that’s perfect for the short-legged on the trail. Something called Adaptive Ride Height automatically lowers the bike 1 to 2 inches at a stop or when parked, kind of like a kneeling bus for the round-the-world crowd. Who knew?
Harley gave the Pan America good lighting from the start, but DENALI can make it better. DENALI’s full set of LED motorcycle lights are suited for the PA. We have clamp mounts in several sizes that will work on the Harley’s fork tubes as well as smaller clamps for those PAs fitted with standard radiator guards. (That’s the Special version to start with.) The clamp mounts can hold the smallest DM, through the DR1 and D2, up through the lightweight quad-LED S4, and on to the most powerful and popular lights, the versatile D4 and the D7. All of DENALI’s lights have complete wiring harnesses built and tested for the most strenuous adventure riding there is, with DrySeal waterproof connectors, available DataDim dimming technology that’s totally plug-and-play, and complete instructions. Other lighting options include DENALI’s innovative DRL (daytime running light) modules and B6 tail light modules, both of which help the distinctively styled Harley-Davidson Pan America be seen on the road and on the trail.
