In a world of ever more complex, sophisticated, and expensive motorcycles, especially in the sport category, Yamaha’s FZ-07, later renamed to match its European brethren to the MT-07, has been both an important course correction for Yamaha and a smashing success. Yamaha calls the MT-07 a “hyper naked.” Its 689cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine is tuned for the perfect combination of accessible torque with just enough top-end thrill to make the bike fun for newbies and experienced riders alike. The engine’s 270-degree crankshaft layout gives it the beating heart of a V-twin, with an unmistakable rumble and that thing called character we humans love so much, but with the compactness of a parallel twin. So it’s light, narrow and reasonably powerful.
Fortunately, Yamaha gave the FZ-07 and later MT-07 a chassis to match, managing to provide good brakes, fine suspension and a compact but comfortable riding position without breaking the bank. Sure, ABS was optional at first and the frame was steel instead of aluminum, but the FZ-07 just flat worked, which is why you see them at the racetrack, on the highway, in college parking lots, and anywhere motorcycle enthusiasts gather for a good time.
DENALI can take this stellar all-around middleweight and make it even more functional. There are several ways to make your Yamaha FZ-07 or MT-07 more useful for highway riding and daily commuting. DENALI’s fender mount kits, which can be adapted to fenders with either 5mm or 6mm screws, can hold the more compact DENALI LED motorcycle lights, from the super-light DM to the larger and even more powerful D2, and on up to the S4. Both the DM and D2 can be purchased with amber lenses, proven to be better for conspicuity in cluttered environments, and both the DM and D2 have user-changeable optical lenses. Choose the spot lens for long-distance lighting, the flood lens for improved conspicuity and a better spread of light near your Yamaha, or fit one of each for a True-Hybrid system. And let’s not forget that all DENALI LED driving lights come with impressively made and thoroughly complete wiring harnesses, and can be fitted with the exclusive DataDim module, which allows two levels of intensity without having to re-wire the whole system. DataDim is truly plug & play!
