Yamaha MT-10 Lighting & Accessories
Yamaha MT-10
The MT-10 follows such hallowed bikes as the FZ-1 but ups the technological ante by a lot. The goggle-eyed MT-10 has the latest generation of crossplane R1 engine, all the electronic controls your buddies with BMWs brag about, and more than enough power. The best part? A comfortable seat behind a standard handlebar, giving you an upright riding position that goes easy on the knees and back.
If you want to travel, or at least integrate your MT-10 into some light commuting, and your weekend rides are now more than 50 miles long, the MT fits the bill. For that, you need some well-considered accessories that start with better lighting. After all, if you’re riding all day, chances are you’ll be coming home after dark.
You have options. So that you’ll be seen by other drivers on the road, add DENALI’s innovative and very light DRL Visibility Pods to your Yamaha MT-10. There are fender mounts available as well as custom-looking flush- and offset-mount styles. (Hey, where did you put your Dremel tool?) The six bright LEDs in each DRL module produce the kind of light you need to get the attention of other drivers, and you can also choose to run them at half or full intensity just by how you wire them. You can also fit the T3 Signal Pods to your MT-10 to act as turnsignal repeaters as well as additional DRLs. And don’t forget the other end of the deal: Since the MT-10 has top-notch brakes with standard ABS, it’s smart to have a bigger, brighter tail light, which is where the DENALI six-element B6 comes in. Your only question is whether you do one or mount the B6 in pairs. Think back to your R1 days: If a little is good, more is better.
