The original, legendary Kawasaki H2 was named the Widowmaker for being dangerous and ridiculously fast. What resulted from an arms race between Japanese motorcycle manufacturers in the late '60s, was a two-stroke 750cc motorcycle with more power than brakes. The H2’s three-cylinder engine was the pinnacle and coolness for its time.
Kawasaki brought back the H2 monicker now under the Ninja line, and luckily, it lives up to the predecessor's legend. The Ninja H2R was introduced in 2015 as a ridiculous 300 hp, non-road legal race bike. The most horsepower ever from a major manufacturer. Shortly after, Kawasaki toned it down for a road-legal 200hp model, the Ninja H2.
The Ninja H2 and H2R are 4-stroke, 1,000cc, liquid-cooled four-cylinders with double-overhead cams and Kawasaki's own supercharger, which was developed jointly with the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Aerospace division. The radical supercharger can spin up to a whopping 130,000 rpm.
