Triumph, a UK based company, is a legendary and well respected motorcycle company. The company has a rich history tracing back to the early 1900s with their first motorcycle. While availability in the US has been spotty, since 1995 they have remained a consistent competitor in the US motorcycle market. 

The Speed Twin is a performance oriented retro bike, the new Speed Twin was introduced in 2019, the new 2022 version has some updates. One of which is a lighter crankshaft as well as an improved weight balanced clutch and counterbalancers. The Speed Twin’s 476 weight isn’t anything out of the norm, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and is familiar to most motorists. The Speed Twin is powered by a liquid cooled 1,200cc two cylinder engine cranking out 98 horsepower. The engine puts power down to the rear wheel through a 6-speed transmission. 

For 2022, the suspension has been somewhat updated, with the forks flipped upside down. Triumph claims this updated fork geometry will improve handling. The 2022 Speed Twin now rides on lighter cast-aluminum wheels. The Speed Twin stops on a dime thanks to large brembo dual disk brakes. These are the recipes for a great handling motorcycle.
