Yamaha FJR is an unusual sport tourer in one regard – it’s been continuously available since 2001. That means that in 2021, the FJR will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. One year more and it can go grab a drink. How many other motorcycles can lay claim to that kind of an achievement? Not very many, that’s for sure. The FJR’s longevity just goes to show what an amazing bike it is. Sure, it’s gone through some changes, but at its core is the same trusty motorcycle as 20 years ago.

If you’re at all familiar with the FJR, though, you shouldn’t be surprised that it’s still alive and kicking. This machine brings together the stupendous performance power of a sport bike with all the comforts and technology you’d expect from a long-range touring motorcycle. Its 1298cc engine, with the exclusive YCC-T control system, sets you up for a smooth ride over pavement wherever you go, from rural backroads to high-speed interstate stints. The 6.6-gallon fuel tank lets you ride in comfort for more than 200 miles, so there’s no need to make frequent stops and interrupt the pure riding bliss the FJR brings.

One of the latest upgrades the FJR has gotten is a revamped lighting system. As the first bike in the Yamaha lineup to use this system, the FJR now features a bright LED headlight with lean angle-sensitive cornering lights to illuminate the road when ripping through tight corners. The best can get better, apparently.
